Evaluation of the efficiency of fire forecasting in residential sector

Olga Melnyk, Ruslan Melnyk

Abstract

The evaluation of the efficiency of fires forecasting in residential sector is conducted in the article. For this purpose, the speed of the realization of fire forecasting models, the number of the objects, that are monitored, taking into account technical means of collecting and receiving information, and the number of models subject to the time required for monitoring, are determined. It has been found that the time of data access on external storage devices is the main limiting factor for the time of models processing. The evaluation of the speed of operation has been carried out on the basis of the received dependencies, taking into account modern characteristics of personal computers and communication channels (Internet). As a result of determining the time, taken for importation of data for one model, it has been proved that the developed methods and means of fire forecasting in residential sector can provide real-time forecasting of preconditions for the fire breaking-out in a city with a population up to 7 millions, depending on the characteristics of technical means
