Ludmila Zhitska, Tetiana Goncharenko, O. Ponomarenko

Abstract

Transport is one of the most important elements of the material-technical base of social production and a necessary condition for the functioning of a modern industrial city. In recent decades, the increasing number of cars in the city of Cherkasy is dictated by current economic conditions and this trend will be observed further. Therefore, the aim of the work described in the article, was to evaluate the possible risks in the operation of mobile sources in the conditions of urbanization. The object of the investigation: urbanized areas of the city of Cherkasy, as well as the systematic pollution from mobile sources vehicles. In the article the system emissions into atmosphere of Cherkasy city have been analysed, the key role of the transport in contamination of the urban areas has been defined, the existing risks of the influence of the mobile sources by fitoindicative, biochemical, computational and instrumental methods of research, measures acording to the reducing of the risk exposure have been worked out connected with the vehicle operation, and proposed measures for improvement of the ecological situation in the city. We believe that the use of combined methods of risk assessment of the impact of transport on urban environment provides great opportunities for the study of the current state of urboecosystem and the identification of possible consequences associated with the impact of pollution sources on environment objects, which is important for making informed decisions
