Abstract

The prevalence of gunshot wounds in the modern world is associated with high crime rates, terrorist threats, the increase in number of local military conflicts and public disorders. The main method to prevent serious infectious complications of gunshot wounds is a primary surgical treatment of wounds. In most cases, surgical interventions are followed by infections which cause diseases of soft tissues that develop in the form of inflammatory processes and others. The research and development of methods to reduce blood loss, to accelerate wound healing and to resorb postoperative scars are one of the biggest challenges in medicine, which ultrasound helps to solve. The risks and complications at gunshot wounds, their differences from traumatic injuries of other genesis are analyzed in the work. The advantages and possible applications of ultrasonic surgery are considered. It should be noted that ultrasonic systems have several advantages over electrical or cryosurgical ones because they do not stick to the tissue and wound channel surface and do not cause additional injuries. The ultrasonic scalpel in comparison with laser surgical instrument allows the surgeon to control the tissue dissection process better. The research of piezoelectric transducers for ultrasonic surgery is conducted. To enhance acoustic oscillations it is offered to place piezoelectric elements on a scalpel, in such way having an angle between electric field vector of excitation voltage and polarization vector
